DAY ONE
Tuesday: On arrival at Milan’s Malpensa Airport, we will get together for a light lunch before making our way the short distance to the Agusta museum for a guided tour.

The Agusta family
Giovanni Agusta designed and built his first glider in 1907. After the First World War he founded an aeronautical construction company, with workshops in Tripoli, Bengasi and Foggia. In 1923 Agusta moved to Cascina Costa, on the “Gaspare Bolla” airfield, where they began the repair and overhaul of aircraft. In 1927 Giovanni died prematurely and the company passed to his eldest son Domenico. Agusta expanded its business, especially after the outbreak of the Second World War, with aircraft built under license for Fiat.

With the end of the Second World War, aircraft manufacturing came to a standstill, due to the ban placed by the allies on aeronautical production. Taking advantage of the boom in the motorcycle sector and the superiority of its knowledge in mechanical engineering, Domenico Agusta founded a new company for the production of motorcycles. Thus was born, on February 12th 1945, Meccanica Verghera Agusta. It is to the Racing Department that MV Agusta owes its fame and notoriety. Established in the late 1940s, the ‘Reparto Corse’ won 270 Grand Prix’s.

After the museum tour it’s time to make our way to our hotel in central Milan for the evening and a superb pizzeria for dinner.

DAY TWO
Wednesday: After breakfast we transfer to the MV Agusta Factory in Varese for our Factory Tour and production line visit. Built on the shores of Lake Varese and with the breathtaking scenery of the Alps in the background, this is where, in the words of the marketing team – ‘motorcycle art is born’!

Thursday starts with a guided tour of the MV Agusta factory & production line.

On leaving the MV factory our next stop is the picturesque lakeside town of Como. After lunch in a local restaurant we join our private motor yacht for a sightseeing trip across the most beautiful of Northern Italy’s lakes.

Our private motor yacht will be on hand for this afternoon’s sightseeing trip across the stunning Lake Como.

On our return there will be time to take a stroll around Como before heading back to the hotel. After you have enjoyed another fine dinner you can explore the bars and clubs in the centre or just sit back, enjoy a Martini and take in the wonderful views of the stunning Cathedral.

DAY THREE
Thursday: A leisurely start is in store this morning, leaving plenty of time for sightseeing in the Italian capital, or retail therapy in this designer label paradise. Just a 300m walk from our hotel is the magnificent Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II shopping centre side-by-side with the Duomo Di Milano, there is something for every taste.

Shopping and culture, all in one place and a 3-minute walk from the hotel.
In the early afternoon our private transfer will take us to Bergamo, just an hour away from Milan, and specifically the Villa Vittoria. Set in the historic centre of ‘Citta Alta’, this luxury bed and breakfast is full of history and charm. Previously owned by Alessandro Volta’s family, the inventor of the electric battery, Villa Vittoria has been entirely refurbished by the current owner Giacomo Agostini.

Vittoria, his daughter, a Master in Interior Design from KLC in London, fulfilled her dream to furnish and decorate the property herself. Characterised by a classic-contemporary style, which displays elegance and refinement. Vittoria’s style has been developed and enriched over the years by accompanying and assisting her father in his many trips around the globe, staying in some of the most beautiful hotels and resorts. It is a place created to welcome anyone looking for a relaxing stay, with a familiar and warm atmosphere. Surrounded by immaculate gardens, with breathtaking views of the heart of ‘Città Alta’, every detail has been studied and taken care of in order to create an unforgettable experience.

The classic-contemporary styled en-suite rooms of the Villa Vittoria

After check-in we will make our way to the undoubted highlight of the tour, the Agostini ‘Trophy Room’. Only a handful of museum visits each year are hosted by Giacomo himself and we are very priviliged to have been allowed full access to the man and his amazing collection of motorcycles and memorabilia.

We will spend a couple of hours in the ‘Trophy Room’ and have ample opportunity for photo’s, selfie’s, autographs and questions. Then it’s time to move on to dinner at a local restaurant, again hosted by Giacomo, and you’ll hear the story of his life and times as a MotoGP rider. It’s set to be an amazing evening with a true sporting legend.
